Free Windows Image Privacy Tool

Share the image. Keep its history private.

AI Stripper Version 2.1.1 | Windows 10 / 11 | Free

Images can carry their origin, the software used to create or edit them, and a hidden record of where they have been. AI Stripper removes that file-level metadata locally before you post, publish, or send an image. Your images never leave your PC.

Privacy scan 01 Embedded file history

Your image files are talking.

An image can name the generator or editing software that touched it. It may also carry a timestamp, location, device information, comments, or an old author field. That history can travel with the file when you share it.

The exact fields depend on the file and the software that created it. AI Stripper checks supported JPG, PNG, and WebP containers, removes hidden metadata it finds, and lets you add a small public-facing field set only when you choose.

Privacy scan 02 Before the upload

Social platforms inspect more than the picture.

Major social platforms may inspect embedded metadata when identifying or labeling AI-created or AI-edited images. Metadata is one signal. AI Stripper removes that file-level layer before upload, including tested embedded provenance manifests in the supported formats.

It does not promise to prevent an AI label. A platform may also use pixel-based invisible watermarks, visual classifiers, perceptual fingerprints, user disclosure, or signals available only inside its own systems.

Privacy 01 Local processing

The cleanup happens on your computer.

AI Stripper has no account system, analytics, advertising SDK, or cloud image service. Its only network action is a small version check after startup. That request carries the app version and receives release metadata. It does not include an image, filename, path, or device identifier.

Updates are notification-only. AI Stripper never downloads or installs software on its own. Read the complete installation, update, and privacy guide.

Operation 01 Same-format stripping

Remove the baggage. Leave the image alone.

Choose Keep original format and AI Stripper removes metadata without decoding or recompressing the encoded image. JPG scan data, PNG image data, and WebP image payloads stay intact.

Every result is written beside its source with -stripped added to the name. Existing results are auto-numbered. The original is never overwritten or deleted.

Open several images at once, inspect the output choice, then strip or rewrite.

Operation 02 Controlled output

Convert only when you mean to.

A format change re-encodes the image, so AI Stripper opens the relevant options first. JPG exposes quality, chroma, progressive output, and a transparency background. PNG exposes compression. WebP offers lossless or lossy output with quality and encoding-effort controls.

Saved defaults can preload the output format, conversion choices, author, and copyright. Those settings stay in the current Windows user's local application data.

Operation 03 Working systems

Private image cleanup. Visible controls.

The normal workflow is short. The choices that can change image data stay visible.

SYS 01

AI history cleanup

Remove generator data, editing-software fields, comments, and embedded C2PA/JUMBF manifests from supported JPG, PNG, and WebP containers.

SYS 02

EXIF and XMP removal

Strip location, device, timestamp, XMP, and other embedded metadata that can travel with an image file.

SYS 03

Pixel-safe same-format output

Keep the original format and AI Stripper removes metadata without decoding or recompressing the encoded image data.

SYS 04

Controlled conversion

Convert to JPG, PNG, or WebP with visible format-specific controls before any image is re-encoded.

SYS 05

Optional public metadata

Replace the old history with a clean Title, Subject, Tags, Comments, Authors, and Copyright set when needed.

SYS 06

Batch workflow

Open several images or drag them into the queue. Every result is saved beside its source with collision-safe naming.

What does AI Stripper remove?

AI Stripper removes EXIF, XMP, comments, generator data, embedded C2PA/JUMBF manifests, and unsupported metadata blocks from supported JPG, PNG, and WebP containers. It can also write six controlled replacement fields.

Does AI Stripper alter image quality?

Not when you keep the original format. Same-format stripping preserves the encoded image data. Choosing a different output format re-encodes the image and opens the relevant conversion controls first.

Does AI Stripper upload images?

No. Image processing is local. The only network request is a small notification-only version check against SputnikFX.com, and the app never downloads or installs an update automatically.

Can AI Stripper prevent an AI label?

No. It removes file-level metadata before upload, but a platform may also use invisible pixel watermarks, visual classifiers, perceptual fingerprints, user disclosure, or signals available only inside its own systems.

Does it remove invisible AI watermarks?

No. Same-format stripping deliberately preserves the encoded image data, so pixel-based invisible watermarks and visual fingerprints may remain. AI Stripper removes embedded file metadata, including tested C2PA/JUMBF manifest carriers in supported JPG, PNG, and WebP containers.

Does removing metadata change required disclosure?

No. Platform rules, contracts, copyright obligations, and disclosure requirements still apply. AI Stripper gives you control over embedded file metadata. It does not change what you are required to disclose.

Will AI Stripper overwrite my originals?

No. Results are saved beside each source with -stripped added to the filename. If that name already exists, AI Stripper adds a number.

Is the download signed?

Yes. The application and installer are signed and timestamped by Sputnik Digital LLC. The published SHA-256 checksums let you verify the exact release files.
