Digital Product DevelopmentFrom idea to shipped software

You have a product idea that needs to become usable software. Digital product development turns that idea into a working application through product definition, interface design, engineering, testing, distribution and launch. We scope the first useful release, handle licensing or payments where needed, and stay on for onboarding and subsequent improvements. This is different from a standalone marketing site. This is the software itself, built to be used.

Software that ships and gets used

A product only helps your business when it reaches real users and performs its job reliably. That means the first release must be small enough to finish, complete enough to be useful, and polished enough that people trust it. We define what that first release contains, design the interface around how people actually work, and engineer it to hold up in daily use.

Product definition

We turn a rough idea into a defined first release. You get a clear statement of what the software will do, who it serves, and what is deliberately left out of the first version.

Interface design

The interface is built around the tasks your users need to complete. Screens are organized so the work flows naturally, with controls where people expect them.

Engineering and testing

The software is engineered to run reliably on the platforms you target. Testing happens throughout the build, not as an afterthought before release.

Distribution and launch

We handle the mechanics of getting your software to users, including installers, licensing and a storefront. After launch, we plan onboarding and improvements based on real use.

VanityFilter: a shipped commercial product

VanityFilter is a commercial Windows video skin-retouching product we built end to end. The studio integrated pretrained computer-vision models, designed the interface, and built the offline licensing, signed installer and storefront. The product is available commercially. It demonstrates our ability to take a technical concept through design, engineering and distribution to a finished application users can buy and run.

How we build your product

Start by telling Cosmo about your project. We discuss what the software must do and who will use it. From there we agree on scope and price before design begins. We design the interface, build the software in stages, and keep you in the loop throughout. You review working versions as they take shape. When the product is ready, we handle delivery and plan what comes next.

Your questions, answered.

What kind of software do you build?

Commercial desktop software, web applications, internal tools and data systems. If it is a product people will use on a computer or through a browser, we can build it.

How is this different from a website?

A website markets your business. A digital product is the software itself, the tool your customers or team use to get work done. We build both, but they serve different purposes.

Do you handle licensing and payments?

Yes. When your product needs licensing or payment processing, we build that into the system. VanityFilter includes offline licensing and a storefront.

What do you need from me to start?

A description of the problem your software should solve and who will use it. We handle the product definition, design and engineering from there.

Tell Cosmo about your product idea

Describe the software you want to build, who will use it, and the problem it solves. Cosmo will help you figure out the first useful release and what it takes to ship it.
